Hollywood Watch : Emmys 2020 – Complete Winners List (Full)

I love Awards and have been a sucker for winning speeches all my life. It is a pity that award functions in India are not that structured but now that we have access to global entertainment (thanks to the internet), we Indians can relate to Hollywood Awards as well.

The 72nd Emmy Awards were conducted today (21st September, 2020) early morning IST and for the first time winners gave winning speeches from their homes due to the COVID19 situation globally. Nevertheless, the ceremony was telecasted live by ABC which is commendable. I always wonder how do the Americans manage to edit live events so dexterously. Let us all see who all won at the Emmys 2020!

Major Winners

Schitt’s Creek, the Pop TV comedy series revolving around a rich to rags story, made a historic clean sweep (#SchittsSweep) in the comedy format, winning all 7 major awards. Succession (HBO) was the big winner in the drama format winning 4 awards from 10 nominations. Watchmen (HBO), too, won 4 awards in the limited series/tv movie format.

Schitts Creek Team at Emmys

HBO turned out to be the biggest network with 11 awards followed by Pop TV winning 7 awards (all Schitt’s Creek).
